Wood Panels

Since April, I have been intrigued with woodworking and creating
art on wood. My love for creating two dimensional images has led
me toward integrating three dimensional elements into my work.

To me, the creative process is more demanding and exciting when
a deal of procedure is involved. I sand, tape, draw, cut, and stain these
panels with deliberate plans. Much like tattooing, my process is creative
as well as procedural. My old days and habits of sitting with a piece of
paper and pencil for hours have grown a bit stale - I haven't been finding
much inspiration there for a few years now.

I do love working on a larger scale. And at 4 feet by 1 foot, these panels
help me express the images I have in my head. Just the right amount
of tones and color, I hope my art sensibility shines for you with these panels.

I hope to continue making them. If you are interested in purchasing, you
are welcome to e-mail me with your bid on a specific panel. Some panels
may be hung in a few different ways - I have not attached hanging hardware,
but to set your expectations, I have bought forged iron hooks and will attach
one on each side of the panel.

My reasoning for this decision is as follows:

I feel it adds a good deal of character to the art to use rustic, ornamental
hooks. As well, by attaching hardware to the sides of the art, there's no
squirming and agonizing over additional hardware pieces that might affect
the art's ability to remain flush against a wall.

With hardware attached on the side, you can be sure your art will hang
squarely and evenly against a wall!
